Akita Inu

Description: The Akita Inu is a large, muscular, strongly-built animal. It has a spitz-like head and small, pointed and upstanding ears. Its tail is curled over its back. Its coat is short and dense. Its colour: various tones of red, white, greyish black or steal blue, tiger-striped or white with black spots.

Origin: Ancient Japanese breed, dog of the samurais. It derives from the island of Honsu located in the area of Akita. It has been bred as a fighting dog.

Height: male 64-70 cm, female 57,5-63,5 cm

Weight: 35-40 kg

Litter size: 6-8

Life span: 12-15 years

Attributes: The Akita Inu is teachable, brave and combative. It's a good watch-dog. It is loyal and devoted to its owner.

Employment: Guard , sport and pet dog.
